TALENTED soccer player Kaitlyn Gunn will unleash a new set of tricks at the Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) championships on Monday.
The 10-year-old from Lurnea will represent the Liverpool District in the interschools competition and she is ready to dazzle her opponents with some fancy moves.
The Year 6 Lurnea Public School student is this week's Liverpool Leader Junior Sports Star Award nominee.
Kaitlyn said the new tricks she is practising were taught to her by former Sydney FC player Ufuk Talay.
``You tread over the ball and go over the other way,'' she said of the first trick.
``The second one you pull the ball back as fast as you can.''
Kaitlyn's selection in the under-10s girls Liverpool district side is her second consecutive selection in the district team.
A midfielder or forward, Kaitlyn has been playing for Liverpool Rangers for seven years.
The youngster, who nominates Talay as her favourite player, said she is looking forward to donning the Liverpool district colours again.
``I just want to have fun and try my best,'' she said.
``I will be hoping to play as a midfielder or forward.''
Kaitlyn said her ultimate goal in soccer is to become an Australian representative player and play for the Matildas on the international scene.
``I want to go all the way and play for Australia,'' she said with a smile.
``I like to play sport, it's fun.
``You can run hard and pass the ball and it's good because you get a lot of fitness.''
